Lohan Formally Charged With DUI

Reformed wild child Lindsay Lohan has been formally charged with driving under the influence following her car crash in Beverly Hills, California on May 26. Lohan was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after crashing her Bmw onto the curb, but was not formally charged because she was seeking medical treatment at a local hospital. Police claimed a small amount of cocaine was found in the vehicle, but it was not on Lohan's person. On Thursday, the I Know Who Killed Me star surrendered to Beverly Hills police and was formally booked on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and hit-and-run, before being released on $30,000 bail. Lohan is set to appear in Beverly Hills Superior Court on August 24. Two days after the accident, Lohan checked into Promises rehab center in Malibu, California, where she sought six weeks of treatment. She was released on July 13.

Lilly Pleased Home Was Destroyed In Fire

Actress Evangeline Lilly found the experience of having all her possessions destroyed when a fire swept through her home "really liberating and exciting." The Lost star's Hawaiian property burned to the ground in December 2006. Despite being homeless, the optimistic 27-year-old decided the blaze, which was caused by an electrical fault, was a good thing. She says, "It was a really liberating and exciting thing to happen. All that I lost were the things inside. I've always believed things are more of a chain than a vehicle. To not be tied down to anything was a great feeling. I was at work and I was like, 'So I've got the clothes on my back, my wallet and my car and that's everything I have in the world.' It was like I was 20 again and the world was my oyster and I could go anywhere, do anything and be free."

Lohan's Relaxed Approach to Acting

Reformed Hollywood wildchild Lindsay Lohan refuses to study her scripts ahead of filming, declaring "everything is on set." The Mean Girls star has been criticized by former co-stars, including Jane Fonda and William H. Macy for turning up late on set and last year film producer James G. Robinson criticized the 21-year-old for being "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional" on the set of Georgia Rule. And Lohan admits she doesn't spend too long preparing for film roles, preferring to avoid rehearsals and stay away from acting classes. She says, "I have never taken an acting class. I don't rehearse. I don't read my lines the night before. Everything is on set."
