Olivia Mojica Makes History as First 'American Idol' Contestant To Go Hardcore

LOS ANGELES – Beautiful brunette singer Olivia Mojica just missed becoming a finalist on “American Idol,” but she will now show she can go all the way in another field – the first contestant on the show to make a hardcore sex video. A Texas native, the vivacious, green-eyed Mojica is the latest celebrity to see a video she recently made with her boyfriend find its way into the public arena and get broad distribution from Vivid Entertainment, the world's leading adult film company. The DVD is titled “Hardcore Idol” and preview footage is available to view at www.hardcoreidol.com. The DVD will be in stores across the country on May 3rd. Vivid is the same firm that is currently distributing the blockbuster sex video made by sultry socialite Kim Kardashian and R&B artist Ray J. “We have a great combination here. ‘American Idol’ may be the most popular show in the history of television. Olivia is really cute, the sex is really hot and there is much controversy surrounding the show,” said Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid. “If she was in the adult business, she would be an instant superstar.” Mojica was ranked as one of the “best of the rest” in the second season of the wildly popular Fox TV show “American Idol,” when she was just 18. She performed last on March 3, 2003, singing “Because You Loved Me” made popular by Celine Dion, but lost out to a field that included Ruben Studdard, Corey Clark and Clay Aiken. She is currently singing at clubs and other venues across the country as well as working on a full length album which is expected to be in stores nationwide in the first quarter of 2008. The video, which Mojica made with her boyfriend Adam Roberts a month ago in her New York City apartment, was obtained by Vivid, which is currently trying to contact Mojica to see if she will help promote the video and share in revenue from its sale. A bit of scandal seems to surround the “American Idol” show each season. This year it to revolves around Sanjaya Malakar who may be getting votes generated by Howard Stern, despite of his lack of singing ability. Olivia Mojica’s role in the show’s history is bound to be noted as well. About Vivid: The Vivid Entertainment Group is the world’s leading adult film company. Vivid Girl Lanny Barby Gets Down With ‘Burnt Fury'

LOS ANGELES – Sexy brunette Vivid Girl Lanny Barby stars in “Burnt Fury,” the hilarious and hot new film from Vivid Entertainment that is part police story and part “Boogie Nights.”

“Burnt Fury” is a romp that tells the story of an ingĂ©nue who heads to Hollywood to find fame and fortune despite her mother’s strong objections. The entertaining film poses the question, “Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?” as Lanny’s mother puts a hit out on a gaggle of porn stars to discourage her from going XXX.

B. Skow, who directed the film, says “‘Burnt Fury’ has the distinct flavor of an adult film from the 1970s, but with an updated ‘Boogie Nights’ twist. It’s a really fun film with a good story and good acting. Lanny is perfect as the star and she sizzles in her sex scenes with both male and female partners. It’s very stylized, beautifully produced and extremely sexy.”

The Hi-Def film also features adult film stars Tommy Gunn and Hillary Scott.

A former Penthouse Pet and Canadian actress and model, Lanny Barby joined Vivid in 2005 after being featured in national mainstream ad campaigns. She has since received numerous accolades and has graced many magazine covers. She was recently featured on the February cover of Xtreme Magazine.

Anna Nicole Smith Dead at 39

Reality TV star, actress and former model Anna Nicole Smith has died after collapsing in Hollywood, Florida. The 39-year-old was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino yesterday afternoon. According to hotel officials, Smith was "unresponsive" and emergency crews performed Cpr at the scene and a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat. Paramedics were seen pumping her chest as she was taken from the hotel and transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. She died at 2:49 pm ET. Local streets were closed off to rush Smith to the hospital, three miles away. Her five-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, was not with her mother, sources say. The baby is being cared for by a family friend in The Bahamas, where Smith has been living since last summer. Anna Nicole was fighting eviction and paternity lawsuits at the time of her death. Ex-boyfriends Larry Birkhead and G. Ben Thompson had both filed lawsuits against the actress/model. Photojournalist Birkhead filed a paternity suit last year claiming he was the biological father of Smith's baby daughter Dannielynn, while developer Thompson has been fighting to evict her from the home he helped secure for her in the Bahamas last summer. On Wednesday, a California judge demanded Smith submit her baby daughter for a DNA test by February 21 - in an effort to end the battle over who the biological father of the baby is. At the time of her death, Smith was also fighting the estate of her late husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, for a share of his estate. Marshall died in 1995. In 2002, she was awarded $88 million from the estate of her late husband, but was denied claim that she was also owed interest on that money. Smith's life has been rocked with the bizarre and the tragic with moments of happiness and success. Born Vicky Lynn Hogan in Houston, Texas, she started her career as a waitress in a fried chicken restaurant but tasted success as a Playboy model, actress and star of her own self-titled, bizarre reality TV show. Smith was named Playboy Playmate of the Month in May 1992 and Playboy Playmate of the Year in 1993. She shocked the world when she married J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 when she was 26 and the oil tycoon was almost 90. Last September was a joyful and terrible month for the actress - she gave birth to baby daughter Dannielynn just three days before her 20-year-old son Daniel died from a lethal overdose of methadone and anti-depressants in his mother's hospital room in the Bahamas. Best known as a socialite, public figure and diet product spokesmodel, Smith also appeared in a handful of movies, including The Hudsucker Proxy, The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult and her final movie Illegal Aliens, which was released last year.

Anna Nicole Smith's estranged mother believes drugs were to blame for her daughter's tragic death on Thursday afternoon in Hollywood, Florida. The 39-year-old was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and she was later declared dead after being rushed to nearby Memorial Regional Hospital. A medical examiner began an autopsy on her body Friday in a bid to discover the cause of her sudden demise but the former Playboy playmate's mother is convinced drugs played a significant part. Vergie Arthur draws parallels with her grandson Daniel's death last year - which one medical practitioner linked to a combination of methadone and two anti-depressants. She says, "I think she had too many drugs, just like Danny. I tried to warn her about drugs and the people she hung around with. She didn't listen. She was too drugged up." Detectives are reviewing the hotel surveillance footage from the hours leading up to Smith's death and interviewing those connected to the tragic events. However, Deputy Police Chief Michael Browne maintains, "Nothing about this death seems suspicious. We're not treating it that way."

Playboy magazine boss Hugh Hefner has paid tribute to his former Playmate, Anna Nicole Smith, after hearing the actress/model had passed away in Florida. Smith was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino by her nurse yesterday. She died shortly after arriving at the Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. She was 39. In a statement released yesterday, Hefner wrote, "I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole's passing. She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and me personally. My thoughts and prayers are with her friends and loved ones during this difficult time." Smith was named Playboy Playmate of the Month in May 1992 and Playboy Playmate of the Year in 1993.

Norika's Last Fling

Yesterday, actress Fujiwara Norika (35) gave fans one last glimpse of that fabulous body before she gets married. Appearing at a PR event at the Shin Takanawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo for new pachinko machines that feature her likeness, she showed up wearing a sexy dominatrix outfit that started an instant buzz among reporters. She wore the shortest of miniskirts, a top that revealed her midriff, and knee-length stiletto boots. It's been some time since she went for the sexy look, and the timing was clearly chosen to generate maximum publicity. The former Miss Japan is set to marry Yoshimoto comedian Jinnai Tomonori (32) on February 17 at the Ikuta Jinja shrine in their native Kobe. Meanwhile, Jinnai is dealing with a hectic pre-wedding work schedule. He leaves his Tokyo hotel before dawn every morning to catch the first shinkansen to Osaka, where he hosts the Yomiuri TV morning variety show "Narutomo!". Then he heads back to the capital where he is appearing in Yoshimoto theatrical events and other variety shows.

“Speargun Hunter” with the XDCAM HD PDW-F350 camcorder

Optical Camcorders Team with HDV Tape-based Camcorders to Capture Dramatic Footage above and below the Water’s Surface

TEMECULA, Calif., Jan. 27, 2007 – Documenting the life of an ocean speargun hunter is challenging enough for a moviemaker; doing it while fighting ocean swells and gusting wind makes a shoot even more complex.

That’s why Filmmaker and Director of Photography Robin D. Berg chose Sony’s new optical disc-based XDCAM HD™ Professional Disc™ System to produce “Speargun Hunter,” a new documentary airing on the Outdoor Channel this month.

Berg shot all the above-water footage for “Speargun Hunter” with the XDCAM HD PDW-F350 camcorder, which easily withstood saltwater spray, tight quarters, and wave-tossed seas.
“The XDCAM® format is solid and I experienced no digital dropout or other media problems associated with tape,” Berg said. “The disc-based camera is very user friendly; Sony definitely got it right.”

Berg’s favorite XDCAM HD features are the flip-out LCD monitor and the random access capabilities of Sony’s blue laser-based Professional Disc optical media, which allow instant thumbnail views of footage on-site. Berg added that the media’s cost-effectiveness – up to 65 minutes of HD storage on a disc that costs less than $30 (MSRP) – also helped his budget.
According to Berg, the intense three-month production schedule took him, his production crew and expert speargun hunters Sheri Daye and Chad Palan to the waters of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, along with Key West and the Treasure Coast in Florida.

World-record spear fisherman and underwater photographer Terry Maas shot the production’s underwater footage with Sony’s HVR-Z1U compact HDV camcorder, encased in an underwater housing. Using this tape-based model, Maas captured Palan and Daye’s underwater adventures, including Daye’s close encounter with a shark and her successful struggle to capture a world record-sized Yellow fin tuna.

Berg noted that he condensed highlights of 13 hours of footage into an hour-long documentary that will air on the Outdoor Channel. The production also took “Best Documentary” honors at the Temecula Valley (Calif.) International Film and Music Festival in September.

Berg, president of Berg Entertainment International Inc. and director of more than 400 episodes of broadcast television, plans to make the XDCAM HD system his primary camera for other upcoming ocean adventure programming.

“The footage shot by the XDCAM HD system affirms our belief that the future for HD is very bright,” Dale said at the documentary’s screening in Temecula. “The clarity and vividness of the footage holds up extremely well, even when viewed on movie-theater-sized projection screens.”
